1. Make sure that the belt on the treadmill has been waxed by your used fitness equipment retailer prior to bringing it home. Proper belt waxing is essential to the maintenance of your treadmill. Start off on the right foot by being sure that your treadmill is waxed before you begin using it.
2. When you bring your new treadmill into your home (especially in cold weather) make sure to let it come to room temperature for at least an hour before you turn it on. You can ruin your electronics if you turn it on while it is cold.
3. When deciding on the placement of your treadmill it is important to consider your outlets and breakers. The treadmill will need to be plugged into an outlet with a corresponding breaker that can handle the load of the treadmill. i.e. A breaker that supplies a TV, washing machine and several lights would not be a good choice!
4. Stand behind your treadmill and eye the treadmill belt to make sure it is tracking evenly on the deck and rear roller. If it does not seem to be aligned properly check your users manual for instructions on realigning the belt properly. If your treadmill did not come with a users manual you can download one for most models just type in used exercise equipment manuals for treadmills or goto.
