It&#8217;s easy to see something, like in a movie or on TV, and then everything is interpreted and based on that. Of course body building is a serious sport that is difficult and requires qualities many people don&#8217;t possess. That stereotype promotes an image of people with balloon sized muscles who slather themselves with oil and show off their abilities to lift hundreds of pounds at a time. This stereotype is not completely wrong. That lifestyle is something that some body builders choose for themselves. Some body builders go the professional route and are paid enough to earn a living just to build up their muscles to crazy sizes. There are, obviously, plenty of other reasons to take up body building as a hobby. The most important reason for your body building efforts should be that you want to get healthy. Body building is a excellent way to get some exercise. If you are just starting to body build, here is the correct mindset for the sport.</p>
<p>Learn how to breathe the right way. Breathing right is important in body building. Holding your breath is a bad idea. Oxygen is important for keeping muscles healthy so you want to take in as much as you can. When you breathe you want to breathe in from your diaphragm and not from your lungs. When you breathe through your lungs your chest expands quite a bit which makes it difficult to properly work the muscles in your chest. When you breathe from your diaphragm you get the same amount of oxygen without expanding your chest. Don&#8217;t forget or neglect any of your muscles when you work out. A few ideas to consider when arranging your diet are included below, as they are a necessity for building strong muscles.  As we all know, water is required for life and some do not take into consideration the effects on the muscles it has. A doctor would recommend for a healthy adult to drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. If a person were to exercise more than a half hour daily, it would be suggested that a minimum of another 16 ounces be taken in to replace the lost fluids from exercise.  Carbohydrates are commonly frowned upon when it comes to diets. However if you want to build muscle, it is essential to include them in your diet. The average adult takes in 2,000 calories a day, 1,000 of which should come from your sugars and carbohydrates. If you take in more than 2,000 calories daily, your intake of carbs must go up as well to sustain the energy needed for your exercise and muscles to repair themselves. Your carbohydrate intake should be from foods like fruit, potatoes and vegetables, and avoid sources that include added sugars like fruit juices and sports drinks. The added sugars will offer short bursts of energy and also normally add fat that the body does not need. Your healthy carbohydrates should come from bread, green vegetables, colorful fruits and almost any type of noodle or pasta.  Proteins should make up the other 1,000 calories of your diet. Common sources of protein that are the healthiest includes fish such as tuna in water or salmon, turkey or chicken that has been grilled or baked. Avoid fried foods of any kind, as they can add fats to the system that are not required and could cause your muscles to be fatigued. Since proteins are the major building blocks of every cell in your body including those of the muscles, it is important to have protein in your diet to keep muscles healthy when you are working out. When muscles break down due to exercise, they must have protein to get stronger and rebuild.  When exercising regularly, the proteins are broken down in the muscle so that they are able to rebuild. It is important to replace those proteins with a new source, or the body will pull protein from other areas that need it as well causing a deficiency in many cases. So it is very important to eat after a work out routine and replenish the body. Some common foods that are high in protein include green leafy vegetables like spinach, chicken, fish and turkey. Certain fish such as salmon and tuna have higher concentrates of protein and are recommended over other types of fish. If eating tuna from a can it is best to get it in water rather than oil. In order for the muscles to break down and rebuild, all of these components are required. You can adjust them as needed to suit your lifestyle, and if you should have any medical conditions that require other food choices, it is best to talk to a physician prior to beginning a diet.
